“Wallpaper Puddings is a series of eight, hand-cut collages inspired by English desserts and the pattern designs of William Morris.
I have used colors and layers of imagery to convey the texture and taste of the puddings, and symmetry and lush backgrounds form the wallpaper pattern. For a touch of the surreal, spoons and forks are included as are the strange flora and fauna that always exist in my collage wonder world.
According to W.S Gilbert, ‘Life is a pudding full of plums”. For me, life is a pudding full of paper.”
Katie’s work was shown in the November 2021 Home & Away group show and is currently available in the Niche Market.
