Carol Powell
“The things I make provide me both joy and therapy. My amusement with my subjects and medium is evident. I like to combine various media including paint, fabric, paper and thread to create a tapestry of color and thought.”
Carol’s work is influenced by many contemporary, folk, and commercial artists, as well as by children’s books and Eastern Indian paintings and textiles. Her artwork has been shown and held in various collections including the Santa Barbara Museum, California State Polytechnic University at Pomona, and the Santa Monica Museum of Art (now ICALA).
Carol lives and works in Los Angeles, and holds a master’s degree in Fine Art Printmaking.
