Jan Waldon
Arkansas-based Jan Waldon modifies found vintage postcards through hand-stitched intricate patterns or humorous embellishments. In her larger-scale, photo series Jan stitches elaborate Blackwork patterning over personal photos of mountain ranges that hold emotionally charged significance. The stitching acts as a process of contemplation, meditation, and healing. Memories are mended and memorialized.
