Jesse Reno

Jesse Reno lives and works in a converted church in Portland, Oregon where he creates his work on canvas and wooden panels, using acrylic paints, oil pastels, colored pencils, and screen printing.

His work has been described as “Contemporary Primitive,” and speaks to a certain longing and almost fanatical search for understanding through intuition and introspection. The work alludes to a “basic wisdom of things based on connection to one’s ideas, ideals and dreams rather than institutional or technological knowledge based on intricacies.”
