Sophia Allison
Sophia Allison holds an MFA from University of Wisconsin, Madison, BFA from East Carolina University, and an AFA Brevard College. She works in a variety of media including sculpture, papermaking, collage and installation.
Sophia’s work has been shown in exhibitions within the US and abroad, including the Palm Springs Art Fair, San Jose Institute for Contemporary Art, Los Angeles International Airport, Morgan Conservatory, OH, Craft Contemporary, Los Angeles, CA and Brevard College, NC, and shows in France and Seoul, Korea. In 2017, she was the recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant.
Her work has also been featured in publications such as New American Paintings, Los Angeles Times, Artscene and MAKE magazine. One of her collages is currently featured on a public banner through ArtScape in Hendersonville, NC through 2022.
Additionally, Sophia organizes, curates and produces Parlor, a unique domestic art exhibition and event project located in domestic spaces in Los Angeles, CA, and showcases artists’ works through one-day exhibitions and performance events.
